Discounted rate – Lasting Powers of Attorney

Dixon Coles and Gill are currently offering a discounted rate for those clients who wish to prepare both a Property and Financial Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney AND a Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney. The importance of both documents cannot be over emphasised.

Put simply, a Property and Financial Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document in which you choose someone you trust to manage your affairs when it becomes difficult for you to do so yourself, usually due to a mental or physical disability.

The Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney can also be absolutely essential to ensure that your wishes and views are honoured where situations arise concerning when and to what extent you would wish to receive medical treatment and where issues concerning your care and discussions with the Local Authority occur. There can be conflict between your family and the Local Authority concerning these issues and it is therefore of crucial importance to ensure your wishes are made clear in the context of a Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney including who you would wish for the Local Authority to liaise with on such issues should you be unable to do so.

This may be particularly relevant where there is second marriage scenario, and children from different relationships.

Please do contact us for further information.

Dixon Coles and Gill are pleased to announce we are now members of the Certainty National Registry of Wills. In a recent survey 67% of people surveyed did not know where to find their parent’s Wills. Indeed tens of thousands of estates do fall into intestacy each year which can cause emotional and financial turmoil for loved ones.

When your Will is needed the register gives you total peace of mind ensuring that your loved ones can quickly and easily locate your Will at this most distressing time.

We ensure that when your Will is made with us, it is automatically registered and you are then provided with a Certificate of Registration. If you have any queries concerning the Certainty National Registry of Wills or have a concern that your Will is not currently up to date then please contact us and we shall be happy to assist.
